Joel McHale and Lauren Graham star as a couple who spend a horrid Christmas with the husband’s father, played by Robin Williams. Upon realizing that he has left all of his son’s gifts at home, McHale’s character hits the road with his father and younger brother in an attempt to make the 8-hour round trip before sunrise. Tentatively titled “A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle” the new movie will be written by Phil Johnston (Wreck It Ralph). British director Tristram Shapeero, best known for directing television shows like Community and New Girl, will make his feature film debut directing the project.
Production is set to begin in Atlanta, Georgia, in late March. Tom Rice of Sycamore Pictures will produce alongside Joe and Anthony Russo.
An anticipated release date has not been announced.
